doctorseyes has collaborated with LED Dental Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of LED Medical Diagnostics Inc., to produce a digital camera adapter system to capture VELscope screen images for future reference and review.

The VELscope operates as a stand-alone unit with an imaging screen on the operator’s side of the handpiece.

Digital cameras, both point and shoot, or SLR† types, are coupled to the VELscope body by the use of a bayonet connector assembly.

Overview of Mounting Instructions

The gray plastic bezel (Ocular Ring) surrounding the VELscope imaging screen is removed by unscrewing the bezel exposing the quick connect adapter ring. (Should your VELscope not have this adapter (Item number VSAR) it may be may be purchased separately below.) The digital camera, complete with the respective conversion tube, or rail system as described below, then locks into position with a third of a turn.

Digital Point and Shoot Cameras

Digital Point and Shoot Cameras are mounted onto the VELscope unit through the use of a rail system. Most Digital TTL† Point and Shoot Cameras with a center located tripod mount can be adapted. A specially designed coupler, which can accommodate a 4X lens, supports the rail system, and camera for VELscope mounting.

DSLR and SLR Cameras

DSLR† and SLR† Cameras are mounted onto the VELscope unit through the use a connector.

Most DSLR† and SLR† cameras can be adapted. A specially designed adapter tube, which can accommodate a 4X lens, supports the camera for VELscope mounting.
